Project CURA
About
Mission
Our mission is to accompany the underserved and catalyze action in Creighton physicians in training through Jesuit values and the pillars of Project CURA - service, community, simple living, and cultural immersion.
Purpose
Our purpose is to deepen understanding of local and global health disparities while also inspiring personal growth and reflection in first-year medical students. We seek to support leadership development and create sustainable, meaningful service-learning opportunities. We commit to foster collaborative relationships between host communities and Creighton Medical Students.
Description
Project CURA is a student organization whose mission and goals are related to pillars of Service, Community, Simple Living, and Cultural Immersion. Medical students will spend 4-5 weeks in various host communities. Students will be traveling to Guatemala, Uganda, and Rwanda. Past years have built relationships in Ghana, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Romania, India, Peru, and Vietnam/Cambodia. Additionally, we have sent students to the Pine Ridge Reservation over their M1 spring break. In addition to global experiences, students will serve local communities through various volunteer experiences.
